Slice Commander

The Slice Commander is an add-on to netfabb Studio Professional and is suited for users working with complex parts, enabling a faster and more efficient preparation of build jobs.

The tool offers many slice editing functions which are also available as three-dimensional operations, such as Boolean Operations and creating offsets. The advantage of the Slice Commander is that the data volume needed for those operations is much smaller than in three-dimensional space. So, calculation times are much quicker and workflow is much smoother.

Furthermore, with the Slice Commander you have much more options for exporting slice data, especially as STL and image files. When exporting image files, each slice layer is saved as one image, whereas you can edit colors, contour thickness, position of the slice on the image and many more parameters. Additional slice file formats are CLS, ABF, CLF and USF.

• Import/export of advanced slice formats including SLI, CLI, CLS, SLC, SSL, USF
• Export of slice layers as image files with formats PNG, SVG, BMP, DXF, PS
• Slice to 3D conversion of slice files to STL, GTS and X3D format

• Hatching- and Fillingroutines
• Contour optimization and data reduction
• Boolean operations on slices for handling complexities that are not acheivable in 3D
